Christmas Morning French Toast

Inspiration

Make Christmas morning easy with this overnight french toast. Prep the night before and then just throw it in the oven. It’ll give your house a wonderful cinnamon smell and everyone will love this sweet breakfast next to the tree.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of french bread or brioche, sliced.

  • 8 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method

  1. Grease a 13x9 inch baking dish with butter.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla & salt

  3. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture to coat and arrange side by side in the baking dish.

  4. Pour remaining egg mixture evenly over the bread.

  5. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tbs cinnamon and sprinkle mixture on top.

  6. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.

  7. To bake: preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  8. Remove casserole from the fridge and cover with tinfoil. Bake covered for 20 minutes.

  9. Remove foil and bake for another 25 minutes.

  10. Serve immediately, topped with some farm fresh maple syrup.
